WITH heavy rain causing the 1'sts and 3rd's games to be abandoned Eastnor 2nd's were lucky to complete a game on Saturday and made the most of it with a 21 run victory at Romsley.

ROMSLEY II v EASTNOR II

At home the first team were only able to bowl 25 overs reducing Romsley to 77 for 5 with Shahid taking all the wickets to fall. The third's had evenless time on the pitch managing just 6 overs from which Hay 2nd's scored 23 for 1.

Losing the toss at Romsley the seconds were soon in trouble on a difficult wicket as the top 3 batsmen were back in the pavilion with the score on six.

With some agricultural attacking play Haris then took the game to the opposition but when he was dismissed for 34 (3 sixes, 4 fours) with the score on 48 and two further wickets being taken on the same score the visitors were struggling to register a total to bowl at. They managed to do so thanks to some good batting from Naseer (31) and Entwistle (39) as Eastnor were all out for 129 which gave them a fighting chance in the conditions.

Romsley also lost early wickets with Naseer (2 for 32) and Tom Hurrell (2 for 28) bowling well with only P. Price (40) offering meaningful resistance.

For the second week running Arshad then took four wickets and with Entwistle picking up a wicket and a mix up from the last pair causing a run out, Romsley were all out for 108 giving Eastnor a maximum 24 points.
