PEOPLE who live in or around the parish of Kimbolton with Hamnish will have an opportunity which has been rather rare in recent months - the chance to go to a garden party and visit an exhibition in a rural location.
The party is at Grantsfield and the gardens will be open on Sunday July 29 from 2.30pm-5.30pm, by kind permission of the owners, Colonel and Mrs James and Rosemary Polley. The event is being organised by Kimbolton History Group as part of their Promoting Kimbolton with Hamnish campaign and their efforts to raise money for the publication of the forthcoming Kimbolton Village Book.
The exhibition, which will be held in Hamnish Church Hall, will be open from 2.30pm-6.30pm. It will include a collection of photographs taken over 100 years ago by a curate of Kimbolton, W G Ransome, who lived as one of the Hutchinson household at Grantsfield in the 1890s. Also included in the exhibition will be paintings, drawings and other work by local artists Arthur Davis, Brian Edge, Becky Harris and Bill Sparey.
Tickets are available from members of the committee but numbers are limited. For further information, telephone the chairman of the organising committee, Tony Malpas, on 01568 613023.
