Hereford United could end the season with a unique claim to fame.

They are currently the only side who have not been beaten by Nationwide Conference champions-elect Kidder-minster Harriers in two meetings this season.

The Bulls drew 1-1 in both festive derbies over Christmas, although Forest Green Rovers and Altrincham, who both still have to play Harriers, could also achieve that feat.

Director of Football Graham Turner, although bemoaning the possible loss of their most lucrative local derby, is full of admiration for Harriers' achievements.

He said: "They have done tremendously well. People have been talking about it not being a particularly strong Conference this season, but since Christmas they have had a tremendous run, and full credit must go to Jan Molby and his players."

Turner, who of course doubles up as chairman at Edgar Street, also paid tribute to the efforts of Harriers chairman Lionel Newton in backing their ultimately successful bid to gain League status.

"I know Lionel has worked hard at the club to put things right, and if anyone deserves it, he does."

Turner also believes that Harriers will flourish in the Football League. "I don't think there is any doubt about it - there is a wave of euphoria that keeps you going."

With the likely loss of Harriers, Hereford could resume rivalries with their old rivals from just up the A49, Shrewsbury Town -- where Turner first made his name as a manager.

The Gay Meadow club went into today's fixtures bottom of Division Three and their fate will be sealed if they lose and relegation rivals Carlisle and Chester both win.
