HEREFORD United have hit out after being forced to play three games in five days.

Their Nationwide Conference game at Telford United has been rearranged for tonight (7.45), having been postponed on Tuesday because of a waterlogged pitch.

With the Bulls having to travel to Kettering Town on Saturday before entertaining Kingstonian on Easter Monday, it makes for a hectic few days for Graham Turner's men, and the United director of football was not happy with the Conference's decision to stage the game tonight.

He said: "We have got to go along with that, but it has left a real nasty taste in our mouths."

The game had originally been brought forward from May 1 as Telford's Bucks Head ground is being redeveloped during the summer, and the construction project is due to begin next Tuesday after their final home match against Stevenage the previous day.

Turner's mood is not helped by the fact that his squad could be decimated by injuries.

Striker Rob Elmes is out with an ankle injury while fellow front men Leroy May and Paul Fewings, winger Paul Parry, midfielder Ian Rodgerson and defender Tony James are all in doubt.

James is rated as the most likely player to be fit.

United dropped to seventh place with rivals Dover taking a point in midweek, but victory will enable them to regain that position and revive their hopes of finishing third.

Telford, who are 16th, need victory to virtually guarantee their safety from relegation. They drew 2-2 at Edgar Street back in August.
