Hereford United's resources could be stretched to the limit for tonight's Nationwide Conference match at Morecambe (7.45).

Midfield man Ian Rodgerson (hamstring) and defender Tony James (back) were added to the casualty list during Saturday's 4-2 win over Kettering Town - and are both rated as doubtful by Director of Football Graham Turner.

In addition, striker Steve Piearce will again miss out after having to pull out of the Kettering game with a hamstring injury, joining Paul Fewings and Paul Parry on the absentee list.

Teenage midfielder James Wall could receive a call-up to the starting line-up, while Rob Elmes and Craig Hanson are expected to retain their places up front after both were called up on Saturday, Elmes responding with two goals.

United are looking to preserve their unbeaten record this season at Christie Park tonight, and Turner is looking for a similar response from the players to the Kettering game, where they were also short on numbers.

"The result was four goals and a good performance," Turner said.

Morecambe, however, will prove a tough nut to crack. The Lancashire side, who are managed by former Hereford midfielder Jimmy Harvey, are also unbeaten following their 1-0 victory at Hayes on Saturday.

Turner added: "We have had them watched and they are a decent outfit who have had a good start to the season.

"But we are only concerned with how we play, and if we can reproduce the form we showed in the second half on Saturday we should be OK.

"It was nice to see some goals going in as well."
