Hereford United central defender James Wall has been released to play in the United States.

Wall, 20, flies out to America on Wednesday to join Nashville Metros.

The former Derby County trainee joined Hereford two years ago and made 29 first team appearances for the Bulls, scoring one goal.

During his two seasons with Hereford, he broke his leg while on loan at Burton Albion but has now fully recovered from the injury and played his last game for the Bulls against Woking on Tuesday.

"I had a very good reference from Steve McClaren who was a coach at Derby when I was on their books," said Wall.

He was not due to figure in today's FA Umbro Trophy semi-final against Forest Green.
