Hereford United winger Paul Parry has been dealt a big injury blow.

Parry, who shone in United's FA Cup run last year but who has been dogged by a succession of niggles this year, has received confirmation that he will need surgery on damaged ankle ligaments.

That could rule him out for several weeks. He is due to see a specialist next week and Director of Football Graham Turner said: "It is a big blow for him."

But there is better news for the Bulls ahead of tomorrow's testing Nationwide Conference trip to Morecambe (3pm).

Eight-goal leading scorer Gavin Williams has resumed full training after suffering an ankle injury in last weekend's 1-1 draw against Boston United, and should be fit for tomorrow.

Experienced midfielder Ian Rodgerson, who also injured an ankle against Boston, has also trained and should be fit.

Defender Tony James, who missed the Boston game because of a hamstring injury, is likely to be fit to return and should replace his deputy James Wall.

Having dropped to fourth place following the Boston draw, United need to return to winning ways to maintain the pressure on leaders Yeovil Town, who they trail by eight points having played a game more.

They are unbeaten in four matches going into tomorrow.

But 15th-placed Morecambe, managed by former Bulls midfielder Jimmy Harvey, will be no easy touch according to Turner.

He said: "They are a decent side. It will be a different kettle of fish to last week -- they do try and play, get the ball down and pass it.

"But we know we can go there and compete and we expect to come away with the points."

He said of the Boston game: "It was a hard battle but I was disappointed with the way we played,

although we had enough chances to have won it, even in the last 10 minutes.

"We competed better than we would have done 12 months ago. The more physical sides used to steamroller us but we can hold our own now."

United entertain Colin Addison's Yeovil in the LDV Vans Trophy on Tuesday while they have a rearr-anged home league game with Doncaster Rovers next Saturday.
