Hereford'S fine run of form continued on Saturday when two goals from hot-shot Adrian Foster helped them to a third successive victory in the Nationwide Third Division.

Foster's brace took his tally to six in his last seven league games and his combination up-front with man-of-the-match Chris Hargreaves and John Brough, who grabbed United's other goal, was a constant threat to the home defence.

Recent signings Nicky Law and Trevor Matt-hewson have played a major part in bringing composure and organisation to the team and Law once again had an outstanding game.

Hereford made an unfortunate start when a slip by Dean Smith left Kevin Noteman in yards of space to volley Ross Davidson's right-wing cross past the helpless Andy DeBont in the 14th minute.

But the Bulls' new found resolve saw them immediately back on the attack and only a fine save by Ronnie Sinclair prevented Gareth Stoker from finding the net from long range.

Then, in the 21st minute, Micky Forsyth, who has been signed on a second month's loan from Notts County, collected the ball on the left of midfield. His pass to Hargreaves produced an excellent through ball for Foster to shoot the equaliser past Sinclair. Ten minutes later a long throw from Law found the marauding Brough, clearly relishing his new striking role, and the former Shrewsbury player fired home from a narrow angle.

Foster had the ball in the net again a minute later but the effort was disallowed. Then, three minutes before the break, Brough and Hargreaves combined to send Stoker streaking into the box but the midfielder was driven wide and his shot missed the target. Hargreaves, twice, and Brough went close to increasing the Hereford lead in the early minutes of the second half and Foster squandered an excellent chance in the 55th minute.

United's third goal came 14 minutes from time when Hargreaves burst down the left and his cross was comfortably slotted home from six yards by former Gilling-ham striker Foster, whose goal tally now matches Steve White's at a comparable stage last term.
