Hereford United's bid to go top of the Nationwide Conference tomorrow will definitely go ahead.

The Bulls' Director of Football Graham Turner says there will be no problem in both the team and supporters' coaches making it to Doncaster Rovers (3pm) despite the fuel crisis.

United don't want anything interrupting their momentum as they bid to make it nine games without defeat and extend their club record sequence of four successive away wins.

Victory tomorrow and defeat for Rushden and Diamonds at Woking could also take Turner's men to the top of the table for the first time since they joined the Conference in 1997.

Turner said: "That is certainly possible -- we could have done it on Tuesday but Rushden had a good win at Scarborough.

"All we can do is keep picking points up. There is plenty of enthusiasm and spirit about the place at the moment, and we have to keep it that way.

"We have played very well so far away from home with some good and battling performances."

Doncaster may be in mid-table but Turner says tomorrow's game will be one of their stiffest tests so far.

He said: "They don't come much tougher than Doncaster at their place. The crowd get behind them and they are sprinkled with people that will be familiar to Conference followers."

Midfielder Ian Rodgerson is United's only injury worry with a calf problem sustained in the midweek victory at Nuneaton. Paul Parry stands by.

Striker Steve Piearce resumed training yesterday with no ill-effects and could soon be ready for a return, while defender Paul Sturgess is back in light training.

Kerry Giddings, who scored the second goal at Nuneaton, should start again and Turner is delighted with the former Stourport Swifts player's progress.

"He is full of enthusiasm, wants to get in shots on goal and is currently keeping out our leading scorer from last season (Rob Elmes)."
