HEREFORD United Director of Football Graham Turner is to delay a decision on whether to sign striker Dai Thomas after fresh claims that he was involved in crowd trouble at Euro 2000.

The 24-year-old, currently on Cardiff's books and previously with Swansea and Watford, was impressive when turning out for the Bulls on trial in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Oxford.

Turner said: "On the evidence of the game he is well worth another look, but on the evidence of matters away from that it is a very delicate situation and something we have to seriously think about."

Thomas is due to meet with Cardiff and the Professional Footballers' Association over the matter.

He is unlikely to figure for the Bulls in their latest friendly at Midland Alliance side Chasetown tonight (7.30). Turner will be taking most of his squad although goalkeeper Scott Cooksey and striker Rob Elmes are unavailable.

Trialist 'keepers Matthew Baker and Richard Barnard are likely to be given one half each.
