HEREFORDSHIRE were beaten 23 points to 13 in their first meeting with Avon in a short mat bowls match at Bromyard.
Avon finished 19-13 ahead and gained four bonus points for their 205-159 shots advantage.
Herefordshire were completely outplayed in the first half but fought back in the afternoon with good triples performances.
