Bromyard Town 3 Gornal Athletic 3
BROMYARD had to settle for a point when they let a two-goal lead slip in the last five minutes of this action-packed West Midlands League Premier Division encounter.
The visitors had the better of the opening exchanges but it was Bromyard who took the lead when Nathan Owen drove a low shot under John Grainger on 23 minutes.
Bromyard doubled their advantage following a 34th-minute corner which David Kearney headed home from close range.
Gornal were given a lifeline within just two minutes of the restart when Darryl Stanway opened his account with a far-post header.
However, Bromyard restored their two-goal lead in the 75th minute through top-scorer Luke Willetts, who held off his marker and rifled in a low shot.
With a Bromyard victory looking certain, Stanway again gave the visitors hope with a splendid far-post volley.
He then capped Gornal's spirited fight-back in the 88th minute when he completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot.
