A Ross-On-Wye based start-up company that has built a highly successful hairdressing business in under two years, has been named one of the UK's top 10 Start-Up Stars in a national business awards spearheaded by HSBC Bank plc.
Jacqui Jaynes and Claire Weare, joint partners of Reds Hair Company, accepted a trophy before an audience of more than 250 leading businessmen and women at London's Savoy Hotel. The company also received a free business consultancy and software package worth £3,000, courtesy of IRP and Sage.
The idea of Jacqui Jaynes and Claire Weare, Reds Hair Company opened its doors in November 1999.
Jacqui and Claire had both achieved considerable success in teaching hairdressing and beauty therapy at the Royal Forest of Dean College but were missing the creative challenges of salon management.
The partners place a major emphasis on training and the close-knit team has achieved considerable success in national and international hairdressing competitions over the past 20 months.
