BROADLANDS Primary School in Hereford has received a national Activemark Gold Award from Sport England, in recognition of their investment in pupils' health and well being through sport and physical activity.
The school is one of 107 in England to be commended in the latest round of applications with 40 receiving an Activemark Gold and 67 Activemark status.
Broadlands is the only primary school in Herefordshire to hold this prestigious award.
Head teacher Trevor Clarke said: "We are delighted to receive this Activemark Gold Award from Sport England.
"I believe we must continue to reinforce the benefits of keeping active and fit for our young people, as they are the next generation and sport is a key building block to a healthy adulthood.
"The school's staff also deserve great recognition for their devotion to the children of the school. Every member of the teaching staff is involved in taking after-school clubs. I am exceptionally grateful and appreciative of their commitment to the school."
