Kington ladies' captain Sue Powell was delighted with the support she received from members and their friends from local clubs for a combined golf competition and fashion show in aid of her charity fund.

Nearly 90 turned out and raised £586 as the golfers enjoyed a nine-hole greensome foursomes medal, followed by a fashion show with members wearing the latest golfing clothing.

Kington men's A team put themselves in a strong position after the home leg of their second round Hargrove Trophy match against Hawkstone Park A, winning all three matches and finishing 18 holes up.

The B team went down 2- at Leominster, with the home team finishing eight holes up.

n Willie Weaver topped the list with a nett 66 in Herefordshire GC's Novem-ber medal played in conjunction with the RNLI medal.

n Philida Barnett, Tilly Hare and Trish Clews posted 35 stableford points to win the Yellow Peril competition at Burghill Valley.

With one score to count on each hole, they finished two points clear of Mary Crockett, Jean Taylor and Judy Kramer, with Marilyn Howard, Joan Miller and Rita Evans a further point adrift in third place.
