Have you got a pond? Could it be the Best Pond in the county?
If the answer is yes then Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group are looking for your entry.
In a departure from the usual format for their annual farm competition, this year FWAG have thrown the net wider and are looking for the Herefordshire farmer with the best pond.
Dragonfly expert, Peter Garner, will judge the competition, cancelled last year due to foot and mouth, during the month of July. The pond should be under half an acre and have a wide diversity of wildlife.
The winner will be asked to show off their pond one evening in September and at that event they will be awarded with the Wyevale Shield, annually sponsored by Wyevale Nurseries. Entries close on June 14.
If you would like an entry form then please contact Tony Norman, The Leen, Pembridge, HR6 OHN. Telephone: 01544 388305.
