Historic Dore Abbey is once again providing the outstanding venue for a production by Mad Dogs Theatre Company.
The Herefordshire-based theatre group hopes that its forthcoming production of The Tempest will be as popular as the highly successful medieval Mystery Play performed in the Abbey in May 2000.
Given the company's unorthodox style, visitors should expect some surprises from the event and those who saw their magical performance of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' at Treago Castle last year will appreciate how palatable Shakespeare becomes in their capable hands.
As with the Mystery Play, Mad Dogs is collaborating with the Friends of Dore Abbey to produce a very special event with half of the proceeds going towards the restoration of this wonderful building.
Although the show starts at 8pm, the audience is invited to arrive early, bring a picnic, and enjoy the peace and beauty of the Abbey's grounds.
The Tempest runs from June 11-15. Tickets are available by calling 01432 851050, by visiting the Paperback Exchange in Hereford, or by logging on to www.maddogs.org.uk.
