TV cameras rolled in a Herefordshire village as children turned the clock back 60 years to help film the life of a celebrated county war heroine.
Youngsters in Wormelow will see themselves playing rounders, the game played by secret agent Violette Szabo during her stays in the village, on BBC1 in June.
The 40-minute documentary features scenes shot at the Violette Szabo GC Museum and the home of Rosemary Rigby, who is interviewed for the programme.
"Producers wanted local children to re-enact the game of rounders so I went around Wormelow and asked families if their children would take part. I was very proud of them on the day," said Rosemary, who will be watching the documentary on June 16 at 6.30pm.
Violette will be remembered again on June 22 when hundreds of people are expected to converge in the museum grounds for an annual picnic.
The event will be attended by actress Virginia McKenna who played Violette in the film 'Carve Her Name With Pride' and became the heroine's first patron earlier this year. The Rev. Paul Wilson will conduct a special service on the day.
The picnic takes place from 2.30pm and Rosemary asks anyone who wishes to attend to contribute towards the refreshments and bring seating.
