Leominster Football Club have called a special general meeting following their AGM in order to discuss proposals for restructuring.

The special meeting will be held at Bridge Street Sports Centre on Thursday, July 4, starting at 8.15 pm.

It is hoped that many of the friends who have retained a keen interest in the club's fortunes will attend in order to take part in a full and frank discussion about the future path the club should take.

A club spokesman said: "We know there are many supporters and ex-players in the town who, for one reason or another, are not able to spare the time to sit on the club's management committee.

"However, many are prepared to offer assistance or support from time to time.

"We would be most pleased to see them at this meeting, even if it is just to offer us advise or to listen to the discussion about how the club should go forward."

The annual general meeting took a number of positive steps forward in agreeing to look at the issue of becoming a limited company, defining more specifically the roles of its committee members and officers, and mooting the establishment of a 'Friends of Leominster Football Club.'

A number of other clubs in a similar position to Leominster FC have gone along the road of establishing themselves as a limited company, following a similar move by the HFA. The football club is investigating the advantages of such a move.
