A NEW initiative to promote the links between clean cattle and meat safety was being launched at ADAS Rosemaund, Preston Wynne, today (Thursday).
Iain MacDonald, new chair of the Meat Hygiene Advisory Committee and an agency board member, launched the new strategy and said the link between clean cattle and food safety - from farm to fork - would include a series of "on farm" information days aimed at farmers, meat plants and the food industry.
The information days will be run on behalf of the agency by ADAS.
Dr Virginia Collis of ADAS Rosemaund, said the open days were being planned for February and April and local farmers and other interested parties would be invited.
