A YOUNG horsewoman from Ledbury has died following a riding accident.
Rachael Helena Watkins, aged 27, is believed to have been thrown from her horse while riding at Tarrington.
The accident happened at around 2pm on Friday, January 3.
Rachael suffered severe injuries to her head and neck and was flown by the County Air Ambulance service to the neurological unit at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.
Engaged
It is understood that she failed to regain consciousness and died at the hospital nine days later.
The facts have been reported to the Coroner in Bristol and an inquest opened and then adjourned to a later date.
Rachael was one of three daughters of Martin and Linda, and was engaged to Tom.
The funeral service will take place at Eastnor Church on Monday, January 20, at 2.30pm.
Donations, if desired, will go to Air Ambulance Flight for Life and Frenchay Hospital neurosurgical unit.
