ROB Weale's bid to regain the World Indoor Bowls singles title ended with a third-round defeat to Australian Mark McHanon at Potters Leisure Resort, Norfolk, on Tuesday.
Herefordshire-based Wales player Weale, who won the championship three years ago, was beaten 8-3, 5-4 in a high-quality match by McHanon, a former England and Hong Kong international who went through to the quarter-finals. Number eight seed Weale previously beat Ireland's Gary McCloy 2-1 in a shoot-out in a close second-round match.
