valuable and unique historic artefacts have been stolen in a burglary at Malvern Museum.
Thieves forced their way through a wooden door dating back hundreds of years, before taking items worth an estimated £1,800.
Among them were ten school attendance medals, ten First World War medals, an eight-inch high bust of Jenny Lind, a collection of Morgan Motor Company memorabilia, various Victorian trinkets and medieval keys and coinage.
The raid at the Abbey Archway museum took place between 2.30pm on Saturday and 10.40am on Monday.
Joint curator Faith Renger said many of the museum's best pieces had been lost.
"It will be difficult to open in April with what we've got left," she said.
"We will be opening but we won't be able to display our best things. I feel we've lost some of our best pieces of Malvern's local history, but it's not going to affect the future of the museum at all."
