THIRTY-ONE pairs braved the weather on January 8 to play a Mitchell movement event of duplicate bridge.
In the N/S direction, the winners were Peter Edkins & Bill Hoare who scored 64.53. They were followed by: Judith Chamberlain & Irene Culcheth, 61.28; Janet Holder & Brian Kingsley, 59.43; Sue & Derrick Munday, 57.46; Mary & Paul Clayburn, 54.92. The E/W winners were Margaret & Michael Simpson with a score of 59.27, and the other pairs scoring well in this direction were: Ken Brookes & Steve Clegg, 58.06; Graham Ling & Brian Meadows, 54.44; Jean & Alan Groves, 54.10; Vera Garratt & Diana Roberts.
