YOUNG people considering donning their army greens can get an honest insight into 21st century life in the forces from a newly qualified soldier.
Trooper Graham Smith from Hereford is to take time out from his busy schedule to return to his hometown and talk to budding soldiers at the Army Careers Information Office from April 28 to May 2.
Eighteen-year-old Trooper Smith completed his full military training and is now a serving member of the Second Royal Tank Regiment.
He started his training at Arborfield where he learnt how to use a rifle, took part in military exercises and improved his physical fitness.
After transferring to the Armoured Corps he then moved to Bovington, Dorset where he passed his car driving test specialising in communications, driving and maintaining armoured fighting vehicles.
