BRITISH Dressage Pony squad rider Alice Hurley and her new pony, Cnapaton Jaffa Imp, have qualified for the Under-21 UK Summer Championships.

The pair are based at Caradoc, near Ross, and are now aiming to finalise their qualifications for the Regional Elementary Championships and the Under-21 Champion-ships in Lincolnshire at the end of August.

Alice and Jaffa have just tasted success with a first-place finish in an open elementary qualifier at Hartpury College with a percentage of 64.67, while they achieved a third place finish in the medium 74 section with score of 66.11 per cent.

Previously, the pair were selected to attend the British Young Riders Dressage Scheme central training at Addington and scored an excellent 68.66 per cent in the FEI Pony Team Test judged by Jenny Loriston-Clarke.

The score gave them third place at the Buckinghamshire-based event and the duo have also achieved high placings and percentages at the Premier League Shows in Hampshire and Solihull.
