WOMENS INSTITUTE -- At their last monthly meeting members of the Almeley WI enjoyed a most interesting talk on the subject of candles. The speaker, Susan Wright, has shops in Leominster and Bromyard, where a great variety of candles can be obtained. The next meeting will be on Thursday, April 17, at 7.30pm, in Almeley Village Hall, when local resident Clyde Jones will be showing slides.
SCHOOL -- April 11, the last day of the Spring Term was the time for the school's annual Eggstravanganza, the theme of which was Festivals. Membership of the CASH/PTFA is due for renewal, and new members would be welcomed. The March 200 Club Draw was won by Mrs Coates. The extended classroom for years five and six, is now complete and is a great improvement for pupils and staff. A vacancy exists for a lunchtime supervisor for five hours per week.
