Ledbury Town 1 Sedgley White Lions 1
ALTHOUGH Ledbury completely dominated this West Midlands League Premier Division encounter, the visitors snatched the one chance which came their way and doggedly defended to claim a point.
Sedgley were immediately under pressure but signalled their intent to play a defensive game when they got back in numbers to frustrate the eager home front line.
In spite of going close on a couple of occasions, Ledbury could not break through and were hit on the break in the 20th minute.
They lost possession just outside the visitors' box and a sharp break and cross evaded the home defenders for the Sedgley striker to volley home.
Stuart Hall thought he had put Ledbury back on terms just before the interval when his superb free-kick was heading for the top corner until the visiting goalkeeper acrobatically flung himself sideways to tip the ball onto the bar and away to safety.
Sustained Ledbury pressure always looked like producing an equaliser.
But it was a mistake by the Sedgley goalkeeper, who failed to gather a cross, that allowed Phil Preedy to score and secure a share of the points.
