LUCTONIANS Rugby Club's Greg Harwood tackled Sunday's London Marathon less than 24 hours after helping the Kingsland-based outfit to a crucial victory in their pursuit of National League action.
Last weekend was a particularly demanding one for the experienced fly-half because, after playing in the club's important Powergen Mid-lands 1 win over Walsall, he was a vocalist in The Whisky Bandits, a band which performed at the club's headquarters on Saturday night.
But Harwood was not the only Luctonians representative to run the marathon because Simon Children and vice-president Malcolm Foulkes-Arnold also took part.
Harwood crossed the finishing line in 3 hrs 20 mins and he was followed by debutant runner Children, who completed the gruelling distance in 3 hrs 55 mins.
