Golden Valley STUDIES GROUP -- On Monday, May 12 there will be a walk and talk on Rowland Vaughan and his water system. (This is a joint meeting with the Longtown Historical Society). Martin Kibblewhite and Carl Davis will lead a short walk from Vowchurch Station to see several interesting remains, including part of the Trench Royal. Please meet at 7pm. The second part of this evening (beginning at about 8pm in Vowchurch Hall) will consist of a talk with slides on Rowland Vaughan and water drowning methods followed by refreshments. On Wednesday, May 28 the group's AGM will be followed by a talk on historic houses of the Golden Valley to be given by Jim Tonkin of the Woolhope Club. This meeting (in the village hall) will start at 7.30pm and will be followed by refreshments.
