POLICE have stepped up patrols at Ledbury's Recreation Ground following a spate of vandalism over the past fortnight.
Beat manager Gordon Headon has already made extra visits to the site and a number of children have been warned about their behaviour.
A fence dividing the Recreation Ground from homes on Longacres was ripped up in the early hours of last Friday (May 30).
People living nearby say the site is also attracting drug users again, especially at night. Other recent problems have included glass bottles being smashed and widespread littering.
The mayor of Ledbury, Coun Keith Francis, visited the Recreation Ground last Friday and talked to worried residents.
He said: "These are obviously problems that we, as a community, must tackle."
