AFFORDABLE HOUSING -- Members of the Herefordshire Council housing research team attended the meeting of Staunton-on-Wye Group Parish Council to discuss the possibility of carrying out a housing needs survey. The parish council decided to proceed with a survey and all households will receive letter and questionnaire early in October for completion by end of the month. The results of the survey will be publicised later in the year.
PLAYING FIELD -- It was decide to purchase seating for installation in the playground. The wobble board has been vandalised and has been removed for repair.
HIGHWAYS MATTERS -- The road from the village shop has been resurfaced and residents have expressed their approval. The poor condition of the A438 at the Tin Hill junction has been reported to the Herefordshire Council.
PARISH FREIGHTER WASTE COLLECTION -- Another collection has been arranged to take place in the village hall car park on Saturday, November 8, between 8am and 10am.
POLICE VISIT -- PC Pam Epton the new local beat officer is to be present at the next parish council meeting to discuss local policing matters including the Neighbourhood Watch. All members of the public will be welcome to attend.
