HISTORY GROUP -- Byton, Combe, Kinsham and Stapleton History Group met on September 10 at the Arkwright Hall, Kinsham, to hear Jane Milde read extracts from the diaries of the Rev Francis Kilvert (1840- 79), combined with many views of places visited by Kilvert as he walked to see his parishioners around Clyro. While only three diaries of more than 20 have survived, Kilvert's description of people and places in mid-Victorian Radnorshire is unrivalled, and Mrs Milde's introduction to the subject will encourage many to find out more. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 12 at the Arkwright Hall at 7.30pm. The speaker will be Beryl Lewis talking on Lady Elizabeth Coffin- Greenly of Titley Court entitled "Eliza and the Admiral". All are welcome.
