SPONSORED CYCLE RIDE -- A group of Bishopstone cyclists joined the 13th Historic Churches Trust bike ride on Saturday. Leaving Bishopstone bright and early and cycling first to Yazor then on to Norton Canon, Weobley, Dilwyn and Kings Pyon. Returning via Wormsley to Brinsop, Mansel Lacy and finally Bishopstone Church covering a total distance of 25.5 miles. The warm welcome and refreshments at many of the churches were much appreciated. PARISH COUNCIL -- The next meeting is today to be held in the meeting room at the Lord Nelson Inn, Bridge Sollars at 7.30pm. At the close of the meeting you will have an opportunity to listen to our new village beat police officer Pam Epton give a short talk on rural policing. Under PLANNING - permission granted for Byford Common Farm with new vehicle access etc. The Lodge, Bishopstone - to replace flat roof with pitched roof - no objections. Court Farm, Mansell Gamage - proposed conversion of barns to create four dwellings - generally welcomed but with reservations. Thunder Castle, Bridge Sollars - demolition of existing garage with erection of an extension and new detached garage - for discussion. A short VILLAGE PLAN update.
