WINTER evenings of muddy, wet feet are over for Eardisland residents following the completion of the village hall's new all-weather car park.
The new car park has been constructed in an environmentally friendly manner with the help of The Severn Waste Environment Trust.
The surface is constructed of pea gravel, inter-linking panels of recycled plastic and turf was re-laid on top giving the impression of a grass surface which is firm enough to park on all year round.
Chairman of Eardisland Parish Council, Peter Davenport said: "In 1980 when our village primary school was closed by lack of numbers, the parish council set about raising funds to purchase it and convert it to a village hall which we badly needed.
"The last link in the chain was to provide an all-weather car park to avoid the mud of a wet winter's evening."
