AFTER the debacle of the last month with huge traffic blockages all through Hereford, we have it again last week with a major road works taking place during the busy period of town traffic.
Were lessons not learned from last month? We seem to lurch forward into more and more traffic problems.
Can you tell the people why, although the workmen are not actually working, the road is still blocked off for a large distance across one of Hereford's busiest traffic crossings at Tesco roundabout?
I find it very hard to understand the logic of the traffic department - in Europe this work is carried out at night, when the least amount of traffic is on the roads.
Could the department have a rethink and learn from experiences and try not to block our major roads, especially when Hereford traffic has nowhere else to go because our wonderful roads' system gives no room for sending traffic on different routes?
JAMES STEVENSON,
Hereford.
