Ledbury Shopmobility has boosted its electric scooter fleet to four with the purchase of a £1,500 four-wheel Voyager.
Martin Watkins, of the centre, based at St Katherine's , said the new scooter was part of a drive to bring equipment up to date.
He said some of the existing battery chairs were a little heavy by modern standards.
He said: "We will phase them out, but only as and when we can replace them.
"The volunteers who look after the centre do a very valuable job. The centre is well used by both Ledbury residents and visitors alike. We have both electric and conventional wheelchairs available for hire."
