THE new £60,000 skate park on the Recreation Ground is proving to be very popular with old and young alike, according to Ledbury town councillors who have been monitoring its use.
Mayor Coun Keith Francis noted that it was "not being dominated by the older children".
But councillors were also pleased to hear that a mini-bus full of young adults had travelled in recently, from an unknown location just to use Ledbury's equipment, which they said was excellent.
No serious vandalism has affected the facility so far. The last planned piece of equipment for the skate park, a "grind rail", is due to be installed in the near future.
Councillors have expressed concern about the amount of autumn leaves falling on the facility from nearby trees, and investigations are underway to enquire whether the council is legally obliged to clear them away.
