IMPROVEMENTS to public toilets in Church Lane, Ledbury, have been given a low priority in a Herefordshire Council report.
The study of the county's public conveniences recognises that "this facility will require refurbishment works", a move that has been demanded by Ledbury Town Council.
But it also says that, because the of low priority rating, the work may not take place until 2007/2008.
Town councillor Peter Watts said: "We are the poor cousins on the outskirts, and we get nothing of the proper cake. Where are our council taxes going? It's certain they are not coming into this town."
Bromyard's Tenbury Road toilets have been given a high priority, which means refurbishment could take place by 2005.
Ledbury Town Council is to draft formal questions for Ledbury's county councillors to discover why such a low priority has been given to the Church Lane toilets.
Ledbury's second toilet block, at the entrance to Bye Street car park, opened this year, and no work is necessary there.
