THE second weekend of The Soccer Site Malvern Football League saw Bishops Frome continue their fine start, but they were given a hard game by their hosts Kempsey United A before taking all three points with a 2-0 victory.

Half time found the teams level with the closest to a goal being an effort by Matthew Beale which struck the Kempsey upright. The same player eventually gave the visitors the lead following a short corner and a well worked 1-2 on the edge of the box. Not to be outdone his brother Michael then ran on to a good through ball to make it 2-0. Kempsey battled hard but were well held by the visiting defence, and despite creating several other chances Frome were unable to add to their tally.

Oak Allstars got back in gear following their slip-up last week and it was home team Fromes Hill who suffered the consequences when the visitors cruised to a crushing 12-0 victory. Oak Allstars' scorers were Chris Stone, Andrew Smith, John Currie, two from Zekley Coral, a Mark Toman hat-trick, four goals from Lee Cluiet and an own goal.

The remaining two games in Division One were very close, Club AC 30 took the points with a 2-1 victory over visiting AFC Grovesnor. It was 0-0 at half time but in the 47th minute Jonathan Creba gave Club AC 30 the lead only to see William Jordan equalise for the visitors. The winning goal for Club AC 30 came in the 75th minute from Sven De Feyter.

The game between Talbot Head and Morgan Aero 8 was an excellent contest with the visitors finally coming out on top by 4-2. A Mike Dean header followed by a penalty converted by the same player saw the visitors take the lead. Matt Cooke pulled a goal back for Talbot Head only to see Mark Phillpots hit a screamer from distance. Danny Briscoe then pulled it back to 3-2 when he scrambled the ball home from close range only to see Richard Bird sew the match up for Morgan Aero 8 when he completed the scoring from the penalty spot.

Division Two saw Dynamo Ledbury retain their place at the top of the table but only by a one goal advantage in their goals for column.

This was because they were victorious by 3-0 over their hosts Cavalry Arms thanks to goals by Mike Grey, Matt Williams and Dan Lucas whilst their nearest rivals Bell Inn 98 netted 11 times without reply at home to Great Malvern Hotel. Bell's goal scorers were, Ashley Jones, an own goal, two each from Chris Grubb, Tim Febrey, Paul Gladwin and a Nicky Welch hat-trick.

Visitors Madresfield were too strong for Vauxhall AFC and took the points with a 8-2 victory. Their goals came from Wayne Eggerton, Richard Taylor and hat-tricks for Gordon Mansell and Adam Morse with the home sides' replies coming from Phillip Huffer and Carl Jenkins.

The remaining game saw Cross Keys, who entered the league very late, entertain a very young Perowne Park Rangers side. Following an excellent sporting game and despite scoring three goals for the second week in a row, the young visitors went down 5-3 to a Cross Keys side which is looking like a serious title contender even at this early stage of the season.

The home side's goals came from Anthony Smith, Simon Barnett and a Jamie Thomas hat-trick.
