A COUPLE marked their ruby anniversary by recreating their original wedding day.

Keith and Josephine Lane, from Bromyard, worked on every detail, including arranging the same venue and service - and even the bride being late at the altar!

Josephine was delayed 40 minutes for their wedding after her taxi was late. The couple were ten minutes behind schedule for Sunday's ceremony, after a last-minute hitch.

But it did not spoil what Keith described as a "magical" day, with more than 150 people filling St Peter's Church, Bromyard.

He and Josephine managed to track down a handful of their original guests, including best man Alec Jenkins, who they had not seen for 12 years.

"It was a lovely, day, Josephine looked stunning and we have to thank everyone for all the wonderful support, help, gifts and cards we received," said Keith.

The couple's ruby anniversary comes in the same year that postman Keith collected his MBE in the New Year's Honours List.

He was rewarded for his 49 years' tireless service to Royal Mail as well as raising around £110,000 for the County Air Ambulance.
