THERE will no easing up for Hereford United when they visit Exeter City for Saturday's FA Trophy third round tie, kick-off 1pm.

"We are treating it as importantly as every other game," said Bulls director of football Graham Turner. "We want to win because winning is a habit. It's an important competition and the preparation will be right and the team will be right.

"It will be tough as Exeter will be hurting after the defeat against us in the Conference on New Year's Day and with the injustice that they feel was done to them with their goalkeeper being sent off twice in the holiday games."

Hereford will, however, have to do without midfielder Danny Williams whose excellent free-kick settled the match at St James Park on New Year's Day.

Williams is suspended for one match after collecting five yellow cards.

The Bulls will be boosted, though, by the reappearance of influential Jamie Pitman who sat out last weekend's visit by Stevenage as a result of his own suspension.

But a question mark hangs over the re-appearance of leading scorer Steve Guinan, who has been missing from the starting line-up since the end of November.

Guinan, who came on as a second-half substitute in the New Year's Day match, suffered a reaction to his knee injury and has been to Lilleshall this week to be checked over.

Also missing will be Andy Tretton, but the centre-back, who has not figured since September because of a thigh injury, should soon be ready for a return to first-team action. He is pencilled in to play for the Reserves next Tuesday.

Tretton's current deputy, Anwar Uddin, completes his loan period from Bristol Rovers after Saturday's game.

Hereford fans intending to travel to St James Park are reminded that they will not be able to buy a ticket for the match on the day.

The game is all-ticket for Bulls supporters and tickets are available from the Hereford club offices in Blackfriars Street until 4pm today (Thursday).

United's last visit to Exeter for a cup competition came 13 years ago when goals from Jon Narbett and Steve Lowndes earned a 2-2 draw in the, then, Leyland Daf Cup.

On that occasion the Exeter right-back was Scott Hiley, who is again likely to fill the berth on Saturday.

Hiley's full-back partner in the New Year's Day match, Alex Jeannin, will sit out the Trophy game along with goalkeeper James Bittner as both are suspended.
