PARISH PLAN - The residents of Wellington met on Saturday, January 24, to launch their Parish Plan. This marked the end of nearly two years work to find out from the people of the parish what they want changed and what they want to keep for future years. Funded by the Countryside Agency and the parish council the plan has been produced by the voluntary work of some 30 people in all. Every section of the community has contributed, including a special contribution from the youth of the village. Action plans show what has yet to be done, by whom and when. The continuing work will be monitored at the annual parish meetings. This marks the first of a new phase of parish plans in our area. Representatives from both Marden and Burghill were present to share in the celebration and see what had been achieved. Groups of parishes could join together to obtain facilities not affordable by just one.
