VILLAGE LOTTERY - Ann and Andrew Culley were the £25 winners of last Saturday's draw with their number 42.

WHACKY WALKERS - Last Saturday saw 21 adults plus 1 dog meet in the car park of the Boat Inn at Whitney-on-Wye. They set off just after 11am with the sun shining and with some blue sky and a ground temperature of 5C. The weather stayed dry throughout the one and a half hour walk although the ground in parts was muddy. With a new route from that previously planned they climbed over some stiles and climbed a steep ridge and crossed a wooden bridge. Somewhere along the walk one of the ladies slipped very gently and left a small muddy area on the bottom of her coat but no bruises or broken bones, it was a very gentle drop. All finished the walk in fine style and entered the Inn for a well deserved drink and something to eat. The next walk is planned for Breinton on Saturday, February 28.

LEISURE LEARNING - The response to the letter sent out last week has been tremendous. Enough persons are interested (at this time of writing) to hold classes for 11 out of the 12 subjects named. What a shame that five persons have returned their form without putting a name or telephone number on it.

THE BISHY BOYS - The soap box race team have started again. They hope to improve their already very successful soap box in anticipation of more success this year. They will attempt three races during 2004 at Mansell Lacy, Little Dewchurch and a new one at Ludlow.
