WI - The March meeting of Much Cowarne had to be cancelled due to poor weather conditions but members can look forward to an evening with Kate Adie at Aylestone School on April 1 at 7.30 pm, and to the next meeting at Stoke Lacy Village Hall on April 2. The speaker will be Ian Mackie, talking about a day in the life of a veterinary surgeon.

History Group - The recent History Group slide show at Burley Gate Village Hall raised £154 through sales of the group's book, A Jugful of Much Cowarne Cider.. Copies are still available at £10 each from Burley Gate Post Office or through group members. The group is collecting stories from local residents who have memories service with the Armed Forces. Anyone wishing to assist with this, or with research into early periods of Much Cowarne's history, can contact Barry Lawrence on 01432-820493.

BLOSSOM WALK - There will be a blossom Walk at Much Cowarne on Sunday, May 9.

Group Parish Council - Ocle Pychard parish councillors devoted much of their time to planning issue, particularly following the recent application to upgrade a bridle path at Ullingswick. Terry Horobin and Peter Chilmaid both felt that Herefordshire Council should attach more weight to the opinions expressed by parish councillors when it came to planning applications.

Burley Gate School - The school is holding an auction of promises at 7 pm on Friday, April 2. Anyone who can donate a promise or a raffle prize is asked to do so. Pupils are making up a book of favourite recipes to be sold at a summer social in June. Anyone with a recipe that they would like to share is asked to send it in to the school office for inclusion. The school is also trying to put together a box of artefacts relating to the Second World War.

Sponsored Walk - There will be a sponsored walk and Easter egg trail in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer, starting at Wynns Green House, Burley Gate, at 3 pm on April 11. Full details from Margaret Pryce on 10432-820006.
