THE gastro-enteritis bug, which has been attacking patients and staff in Herefordshire hospitals, is petering out.
By today (Thursday) it is expected that all wards at the County Hospital will be back to normal.
At one time four wards were closed to all new admissions and around 100 staff and patients became victims of the unpleasant norovirus, which caused sickness and diarrhoea.
The last of the wards was deep cleaned yesterday (Wednesday) and patients are being re-admitted. Ross Community Hospital, at one stage closed to new patients, has now been given the all clear and reopened on Tuesday.
Leominster Community hospital, affected by the bug earlier in the month, is also back to normal.
