AFTER winning their last seven games in West of England Premier League Glos/Wilts Division 1 at the end of the season, Colwall took their successful streak to eight with a 33-run victory over Lydney.

After winning the toss, Colwall skipper Tom Wolfendale got his side away to a rapid start with a bright 17 but three wickets fell in quick succession before David Powell was joined by Tim Riley in a profitable stand.

Powell reached 67 and Riley 33 before both were run out in the quest for quick runs and only a late flurry by James Wagstaff (17 not out) took the score to 163-7.

Lydney made a rapid start in reply and raced to 52 from the first eight overs with Australian Gallaghen in fine form. But after he had been caught by Riley off Dave Sutton at deep-mid-on for an attractive 45, Colwall's bowlers took complete control.

Sutton (4-40) and Wagstaff (2-20) raced through the middle order and then Josh Hornyold (4-20) sliced through the tail to end the Lydney resistance on 130.
