VILLAGE HALL - The village hall at Aston Ingham has undergone a major refurbishment, together with an extension to the existing building, bringing it into line with current statutory requirements. The work has been funded by grants from Herefordshire Council, Aston Ingham Parish Council, The Eveson Trust, the Countryside Agency, Severn Waste Environmental Fund, the Community Fund and by the fund-raising efforts of the village. An official opening ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 5. A lunch is to be served at 12.30pm for all the funding bodies, those from the community council who have guided and advised on the project, the local district councillor, Harry Bramer and MP Paul Keetch, together with the committee members of the village hall. At 2.30pm, the actual opening of the hall will be held with Mrs Enid Hooper, an older member of the village performing the cutting of the tape. There is an open invitation to all the villagers to come to this ceremony, which will be followed by a grand tea-party.
