BECKY Morgan's hopes of becoming the first Welsh player to win on the LPGA Tour in America ended in disappointment when she fired a last round 72 to finish in third place after starting the final round three shots clear of the field.
The Monmouth-based 29-year-old has enjoyed her best-ever start since turning professional four years ago.
After a couple of fine performances, she was poised to win her first tour event until a cruel double-bogey on the ninth hole signalled the start of a tentative finish in which she was overhauled by American winner Sherri Steinhauer and South Korea's Grace Park.
Afterwards she admitted to feeling the pressure and said: "I like to fly under the radar and it's a little different when you have lots of TV cameras."
However, she did have the consolation of a £46,000 prize for her third place.
