MOCCAS seamer Joe Brown enjoyed his day in the sun at Knighton, returning the best figures of his career as the villagers thrashed the town side, who were dismissed for a meagre 19, by 10 wickets in Division 3 of the Flint & Cook Marches League.

Brown bowled opener Wayne Aspley with the first ball of the match and went on to claim 7-5 in his spell of 12 overs which included nine maidens, dismissing the last Knighton batsman with the final ball of his spell.

Moccas openers Tom Jaques and John Davies wasted little time in reaching their target, knocking off the runs in just 10 balls.

Also in Division 3, Goodrich 2nd won for the second week in succession as Mark Bradford's unbeaten 87 steered the south Herefordshire side to an impressive seven-wicket win at Talgarth 2nd, for whom Mark Waldeck hit 74.

Neil Franklin lashed 73 not out as Monmouth 2nd continued their bright start in Division 2 with a seven-wicket win over Builth Wells, while Maurice Embrey (58) and Mark Herbert (6-58) starred for Ledbury who beat Marden, for whom Andrew Bridges contributed an unbeaten 61, by 26 runs.

In Division 4, Wormelow 2nd never looked back after Mick Merrick (87) and Andrew Davies (74) gave them a flying start with an opening stand of 138 in a 161-run victory over Llandrindod 2nd.

And, in Division 5A, Matt Graff (78 not out) and Darren Woodhouse (84 not out) compiled an undefeated stand of 164 for Bosbury's sixth wicket to set up a winning position against Bishop's Frome.

Bishop's Frome lost a wicket from the first ball of their reply and things went from bad to worse as they capitulated for just 18 to lose by a massive 262-run margin.

Phil Brookes hit 19 fours in his unbeaten 95 as Ewyas Harold sought to continue their good start in Division 5B but found Strollers' Mark Powell in equally fine form.

Powell, who had scored 99 the previous week, this time completed his century from the last ball of the game and his unbeaten 101, which featured five fours and 10 sixes, led Strollers home by nine wickets.
